It's always a dream to photograph at this venue and this was another perfect 'DIY' style wedding held at the super laid back Rhossili Bunkhouse. These two actually live in Gosport and are not local to the area at all but they chose to get married in Gower as it has been a special holiday destination for them where they've created some very special memories over the last couple of years. So, they came to Rhossili, bringing friends, family and military family from all over the place to celebrate their union.
I arrived to meet Carri with all of her girls getting ready in the Bunkhouse, singing along to their favourite songs, sharing makeup tips, laughing out loud and basically having the most relaxed and fun lead up to the ceremony. A little before it was time to walk down the aisle, Carri's Dad walked in to see Carri looking like perfection and he (as you'll be able to tell from the photos!) was to say the least moved to see her.
The couple were fortunate to have settled weather and therefore were able to hold their ceremony outside. They chose an intimate and personal, humanist ceremony and it was officiated by Margaret aka The Gower Celebrant who might I add is one of the most warmest and eloquent celebrants going! Their bespoke ceremony covered how the two met, a broken leg, how they fell in love, had their first argument, an advent calander proposal that didn't go to plan, their camping and campervan travels, along with sweet and funny anecdotes involving family and friends. The celebration also included a hand fasting, tied by the smaller guests and finished with Carri and Matt walking through an honour guard with a traditional sword arch, with the excited and joyous applause and cheering from their family and friends.
After the ceremony we went straight in for a modest amount of formal photos and then we got to go to Rhossili, which is the dream. It wasn't late enough for those sunset photos to be had but it was autumnal, even and absolutely perfect. The two were so into each other, enjoying the moment of being just married and just being at one of the most breathtaking and iconic headlands in the UK. Worms Head, Rhossili Bay and Llangennith all within the compositions, I was also very happy!
All the way of 4 minutes driving back to Rhossili Bunkhouse the newlyweds found guests, drinks and mingled before they were announced into the dining hall with catering from The View, Rhossili. This is where my time with the couple came to an end but I know they continued to have a perfect evening celebrating with their favourite people.
Here's a selection from their day
